Come with me to my "happy place"

by - April 12, 2013

...So, yesterday I woke up feeling a little melancholy...smile.

...couldn't really do what I wanted to do...so I went to my happy place...

IKEA!

I went kicking and screaming...I didn't really have any money to spend...and I really need to focus on my ETSY Shop and moving some of the merchandise I already own...

...but, off I went anyway...and I'm so glad I did.

IKEA...in the middle of the week...no one is there but me and a few other moms looking for a creative outlet...is the best place in the world...no really...don't take my word for it...
just look at all the cool pics I took yesterday...as proof.
their new fabric line...sigh.  I wanted to buy it all...discipline.

I purchased a couple of privacy plants for our terrace and now I need to find a creative planter for them.  I love this idea...two $1.99 Ikea trash bins glued together...very mod...but not big enough for the plants I purchased...The search continues...stay tuned.

...fell in love with this area rug...just $39 bucks...I have no place to put it...sigh.

...these bright pillows are just $3.99
...guess which one I bought?

 Fun...fun...fun.
 cool..rugs everywhere.

 Love this artwork...and just $4.99

 more rug love...

cool kitchen art...everyone needs a little cool kitchen art, right?

removable decals...you know how much I love removable decals...I bought some...had to...no discipline.

I really like this botanical print...and it reminds me of all the posters that hung in my jr. high school science classroom.

 reminds me of PBS animation

cool chairs...but, $149?  Yikes.

Ikea is gearing up for their spring/summer patio campaign...I didn't see anything new or interesting.

My Ikea...yep, it's mine...has a food section that seems to get bigger and bigger with every visit.
All things Swedish...YUM...and not so yum.  I want to try something new every time I visit...

...this time I tried some of that Easter drink up there...a little weird...kind of a mix between cola and ginger ale...?
 ...same old art...nothing new here.

I was feeling so good after visiting my happy place...I decided to visit happy land part 2...the thrift store...and it did not disappoint.
sigh...this shelf...hand made and lovely.  I did not buy it...no room.

...another foot stool...sigh...discipline...sigh...but it was just $3.00...how could I leave it?
I did.

 ...loved these little ladies.

I love National Geographic...I could spend the day looking thru them...a stack of these puppies look so good on a book shelf.

...look at all the vintage play station games...I hear there is a huge market for them...hum?

scary...love the outfit.

 dolls, dolls and more dolls...

 ...I love vintage toys...not that this trike is vintage...I think it's a remake...but, I still like it.

 ...this one too.

So, there you have it...all things that make me Happy.
I purchased a couple of things and I have so many things to list in my shop...so, I'll be very busy this weekend...if I can just focus...Oh yeah, and I have to make it to the gym too...sigh.  Mini's world history regents exams are coming up so we'll be watching movies about Henry XIII and the Protestant Reformation all weekend.  No grown fun for me this weekend...Just grinding.

Enjoy your weekend and get your grind on.

Don't forget to enter my giveaway...I pick the winner on Monday.

  2. Ooo yes! I haven't been able to get to Ikea lately so this was great.
Now that is such a good idea--the double trash bins for your plant. So crafty.
Ikea fabrics are eeeverything! I just love the 3rd and 4th ones.
And I love the colorful deck chairs but the price?...not so much.

And WHO is donating those playstation games? Those things are 50 bucks brand new!

  4. Baby doll in the blue is a Crissy. She may or may not be worth much with that hair cut though. Someone threw mine out without my knowledge. She is definitely a forever doll.
