How I'd like to live today...Boho cool.

Hey guys, another entry on how I'd like to live today...

sigh...

I gotta get MY terrace together....

I love the simplicity of this dining room...and the masks hung at eye level are perfection...I have a box full of masks...just don't have a blank wall to put them on...maybe later.

I feel like I've posted this chair before...I'm so in love with it...

Ummm, I need a dress just like this...yeah, that'll work.

Whenever my terrace is cleared off, I will diy a bench similar to this...and the artwork above the bench is cool...I still have not picked up my paint brushes...but, I will.

How nice and simple is this vignette?  Just a bunch of crosses all hung in together...really makes a nice simple statement.

Ugh...I'm so hungry...and this garlic shrimp looks so good...check out the recipe.

More Spray Paint Magic...

I picked this cute little fish up at the thrift store for just .99 cents.

Stuffed it with a little plastic bag...to keep the paint from going inside...

...then I hit this puppy with my trusty gold paint.

So cute...

VIDEO TUESDAY...Free People...Boho Love

...another favorite from my YOUTUBE collection.
Who knew the Free People store made movies...well, shorts?
This one is beautifully shot.
The interiors, fashion and story line scream spring...when everything is new and anything is possible.

Enjoy.

Finally...

It's almost that time again...and I finally got the ID needed to sell things at a local flea market...YEAH!

I can now get rid of all the furniture I've been collecting on my terrace...

I'm so dreaming of this...

and this...a DIY day bed.

I will make a version of this for my terrace...as soon as I sell my current collection of furniture...

My Muse and the best $6.99 find ever

So, Mini's school is doing a performance of "GREASE".

One of my favorite movies of all time.

...and yes, I had pictures of John Travolta on my wall as a kid..."don't judge".

Mini has a small part in the play...mostly singing and dancing...but, she needed a 50's style dress for one of the scenes.
If you follow me on Instagram you already know that I thought I found the perfect dress at the thrift store today...Not!  The dress was perfect, but it didn't have a price tag so they wouldn't sell it to me...WTF!?!?

UGH!

So...I stopped by my other secret spot as I walked to the car fuming...

and what did I find...but the perfect dress and for just $6.99.

The moral of this story...don't get mad when you don't get something you think you really want...cause, something better is waiting just around the corner...

I couldn't help but take tons of photos of Mini in the dress...one, because I need to practice my photography skills and two, the dress had to be cut...to calf length...remember we are going for a 1950's look.

 cut, cut, cut...

 I'll hem it tomorrow...

I'll use the extra fabric to make bows for all the girls in the cast to wear in their hair...crafty mom...

How I'd like to live today...

How I'd like to live this weekend in the N.Y.C.

This dress is so cute...I don't think the weather will cooperate...to rock something like this...but, soon.

Do you see this lamp shade?  So clever and easy to do...pick up one of those huge thrift store shades ... remove all fabric...and viola.

I have to stage and photograph lots of stuff for my Etsy shop...and this photo inspires me...

I would love to spend some time painting this weekend...I haven't done that in forever.

I may have to rock a short skirt this weekend...cause I found a very similar pair of boots at the thrift store this week...love them.

I picked up a few wall hanging to sell in my etsy shop...this photo is inspiration for styling them for photos before I up load them to my shop, Soul Pretty Etsy.

...more photo styling inspiration...

This room is just perfection.
The plant in the window is nice...
I'd love to spend some time in my bed...sigh.

..for sure I'm gonna hit up the flea market this weekend.

What are your plans?  Whatever they are...be safe and have a great time...

As promised...Videos on how to do a twist out...

Hi guys,

Mini got so many compliments on her hair...I decided to post some of the youtube girls who taught her everything she knows about twist outs on natural hair...Enjoy!

An Impromptu Photo Shoot

...Mini and I did an impromptu photo shoot yesterday...

I've been watching YOUTUBE videos on photography and lighting and wanted to try out what I've learned.

...So, as soon as she came home from school...I grabbed the camera...before I lost the light...

Oh, I sound all professional photographieee...lol.

I just may be a photographer yet.

Mini's hair has been natural since growing back after her bone marrow transplant...2 years ago.
Mini went to bed after and slept all night...she still gets tired...but, she's a fighter.

To achieve this look...I coated her hair with grape seed oil and ECO styling gel...and twisted...I finished it off by placing a sponge roller around the ends of the twist...leave it in over night...take it out in the morning and viola...curly temple.

If you want to see how the pros do it...go to YOUTUBE and search "twist out".

16 going on fabulous...
