Sneak Peak...

So, I got a lot further with my make-over end table project than I expected...
Upon closer inspection of my new furniture I found out that one of the tables is actually from Ethan Allen.  This piece is solid...

So solid, I had to almost scrap the whole project after working for one hour to remove just one of the drawer handles...UGH!  Well made for sure...they put those handles on with the intention that they will never, ever fall off...So rest assured that you have purchased a well made piece of furniture if you shop at Ethan Allen...A piece like this will cost you around $800.00 bucks...check it out for yourself.

For a DIYer like myself, this type of furniture is a nightmare...just look at the results of all their quality construction...when I tried to remove the handle...

...this type of project is not for DIY punks...you have to go hard or go home...and I almost went home...lol.
but, really...it's nothing a little spackle can't fix...I know I should use wood filler...but, really...It's not that serious...

These are my new handles...I think.  I picked them up from IKEA...$2.99 for a pack of 6...I may stop by HomeDepot to see what that they have to offer.

For anyone on the fence about purchasing second hand furniture, I took this photo to show you guys how clean and beautiful this furniture is...inside and out...like new.

Now for the process...I normally paint my furniture...this time I wanted to try something different.  So, I scoured the internet looking at many videos and blogs where people were spray painting their furniture...I decided to try it...

I used spray primer and this is how it turned out...easy, peasy...
after waiting two hours for the primer to dry...I sprayed it with the actual color...a dark grey-green...in a glossy finish...AHHHH...and let that dry for 2 hours between coats...I did two coats...and let it dry over night...today I hope to finish it up and give you guys a looky look before the weekend...

Oh yeah...I purchased this drawer liner paper from TJMaxx a long time ago for the dresser that never happened...I'll line my new night table drawers with it...

stay tuned.
