...so, the other day I was in the clinic with Mini...sitting alone in the waiting room...WAITING for Mini to finish her test...when this couple came out of the office with a little baby...the mom and dad were discussing their situation...the wife and baby followed the doctor into another room while the husband talked with the receptionist about making another appointment...their conversation went something like this...
receptionist: How can I help you?
dad: I need to make another appointment.
receptionist: O.K...you can come back on Monday, September....blah, blah, blah...
dad: Oh no...It needs to be on a Wednesday morning...
receptionist: O.k...but, that will be September...blah, blah, blah...
dad: That's fine, as long as it's a Wednesday morning...that's the time my wife wants...
Sigh...this just made me think about my situation and how alone I am...and how much easier this would be if I had someone who really loved and could be there for Me and Mini...They would make sure I got the right appointments while I talked with the doctor...smile.
So, when I saw the photo of the couple pictured above...I thought, "oh, this is what it looks like when someone has your back."...when I have someone like that...I will take a picture with him just like this one...and send it out as a Christmas card...lol. I'd also buy him a ring just like the one in this post...with our initials engraved in the side...Yep, I'm that kind of girl when in love...Something I have not been in a really long time...sigh.
Being in love is not easy when you have a chronically ill child...I mean, I don't have a lot of time to think about dinners, dates and sex...you know, all that cute normal couple stuff like hanging out with him, meeting his friends, him meeting my friends...hell, I hardly see me friends...My love life would be more like...Did you see Mini take her medicine today? Oh, you wanna go away this weekend...can't, Mini's not feeling well...Oh, I'm sorry...the lawyers needed to see me today...can we get together in two weeks...? It would take a very special man...and this is NYC after all...just try finding a straight man...lol.
I'm just rambling now...I usually keep these feeling deep, deep, deep inside, so far from my life...but, seeing that dad caring for his family that day in the clinic just bought all these feeling rushing back into my life...UGH!
It's all about the wood today.
...So this weekend I got to thinking about moving the furniture around in my bedroom...This happens whenever I don't have a client and I have too much time on my hands...I didn't move anything...but I did search the internet for inspiration and I came across these products that have nothing to do with my room I just think there cool...
...it's been raining in the NYC for days...I have only been to the hospital and back home...UGH! I have cabin fever big time...the sun is finally shining today and through the weekend...Wouldn't it be nice to have cabin fever in these rooms? The interiors just remind me of fall...my favorite season...sigh.
When you are feeling a little down, just remember this...
Every so often I do these visualization exercises....you are what you think...so here goes...
In a perfect world...My home would look like this...
...My man would look and be as talented as this...
(the late, great Bob Marley)
My sitting room would look like this...and yes, I will have a room just for sitting...smile.
...I'm always looking for inspiration for my narrow entry way...I like the way they covered the wall with white frames...not sure I like the randomly place mirrors...Bad Feng Shui...I love the hooks for jewelry and the bars for hanging hats and anything else...hum, interesting.
Another Easy D.I.Y.
Thrift stores are loaded with vintage scarfs...and IKEA is loaded with cheap simple picture frames...put the two together and viola...instant graphic art.
I heart everything about this room...didn't I pick up a very similar chair last week at the Salvation Army? The cross is beautiful....Hum, a little imagination a trip to Micheals Craft Store, Home Depot and a couple of 2 x 4 could make this happen.
I luv everything about it...everything...
...polished with an ethic edge...luv.
...this photos been around for a while (Domino Magazine)...I just love it...and the Salvation Army had the same coffee table last week for $40.00...Yes, US Dollars...smile.
Here's another Easy DIY...
Is your fridge old? No time or money for a big overhaul? Why not hit it with a little chalk board paint...it comes in colors now...I'm sure some priming has to go on before the chalk paint...but, wow! It looks cool.
Remember when I was so excited about doing work for a celebrity client...back in February? I never showed you guys the pictures...He was very happy with the results...and so was I...Whew!
This is his New York City Office...
...It's the end of the summer and I'll be spending it dressed like this...Well, when I get dressed at all...lol.
...I'm like the director of the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade...as soon as it's over he starts working on next years parade...These rooms are wonderful.
