You guys don't know this...but my convector leaked again...floor had to be replaced again...all furniture had to be removed again...and is now being reloaded back into the room again...
...thought I'd do a post on what I'll be up to tonight. I don't know if you all have heard...but, Project Runway All Stars begins tonight on the Lifetime Channel...at 9 pm...
Now listen...I'm over Project Runway...It really hasn't been the same for me since it left Bravo...not sure why...but, the challenges just became too cartoonish....I went to design school for years...High School and College and there is really nothing creative or admirable about making an outfit out of things you find in a hardware store...really.
But I am excited about the All Star show beginning tonight because two of my all time favorite contestants are coming back...Michael and Koto...both were robbed when neither of them won in their first seasons on Project Runway...I hope they get the chance to redeem themselves...Whatever happens I'll be tuned in tonight...looking to be inspired...and what the hell, I may even sew something myself...I mean my old machine is back in service...stay tuned.
Korto Momolu - Season 5 - Now on Project Runway All Stars
and
Michael Knight - Season 3 - Now on Project Runway All Star
I'm making my goto oatmeal raisin cookies...I make these all the time...and I'm going to need some munchies while watching t.v. tonight...they are the best ever and I found the recipe on the Smitten Kitchen blog...if you don't know about that cooking blog...you really should.
I'll also be sipping on some Andre' Champagne...Champagne is my go to drink...it's kinda hard to order at a bar without getting the side eye from the bartender...so I usually order tequila...my second go to drink...anywho...So lately, I've been drinking Andre'...they changed the cap and it now twists off...What? Yes...so I don't have to drink the entire bottle in one sitting...lol. I can twist the top closed and drink another day...and you can't beat the price, around $5.00...for bubbles and a nice buzz...no hangover...no brainer...and I just feel like drinking like a lady...if you know what I mean...lol.
While making cookies...and clearing out closets...once again...I'll be watching Fly Nest's YouTube channel...this lady is the bomb! ...and for some reason, I'm all about fashion right now...and I love thrift haul videos and hers are dope.
Check her website Fly's Nest - Vintage Shopper
Please follow her channel on YOUTUBE...her videos are great! Watching her is like hanging with your super cool, super nice, super funny, like minded best friend...with the taste and appreciation level that only a true vintage loving fashionista could appreciate.
Fashion disclaimer...her videos are not about thrifting Calvin Klein or Gap Jeans...not that there is anything wrong with thrifting those items...I do it all the time...but, I live for thrifting true treasures...anything beaded, sequence...leather...sigh...and this lady does just that...she has a great eye...and she sells most of the items in her online store...sigh. Let me know what you think.
Live the life you dream about...I dare you.
It's Monday and here's a tip that I think could come in handy on a day like today...after eating poorly all weekend like I did...I woke up this morning wanting a green smoothie when this idea hit me...why chop fruits and veggies every day when you can do it once...bag up the leftovers into individual servings and freeze...that way, whenever you want a healthy snack...just pick a bag from your freezer and pop it into your blender...There, I just saved you 15 minutes...no excuses...your welcome.
Go ahead and live the life you have always dreamed of...I dare you.
I have had this sewing machine for about 10 years...about 5 years ago it stopped working...so much was going on in my life at that time I never got around to fixing it...My mom had a very similar machine and was always after me to get mine fixed...she even gave me the number of a repair guy who makes house calls...I tucked that piece of paper away for one day...
Fast forward to a couple of days ago...I'm home purging stuff...lots of stuff...when I look at this machine that has been sitting in my kitchen...broken for at least five years when I decided it had to go...I wanted to donate it...I get like that sometimes...everything must go!
One night while cleaning out a couple of junk drawers...I took a few boxes of garbage down stairs for the trash...when I got back on the elevator to return to my apartment there was a single sheet of torn paper on the floor...Hum, there was a number written in my handwriting...AVI Sewing...
Hum...of all the things that could have fallen out of that box...I thought that was weird...so I picked it up and usually I can procrastinate with the best of them...but, I had an overwhelming need to call the number on the paper...could this really be the number my mom gave to me over 5 years ago...the sewing machine repair guy? Nah...and if it was, how did it happen to be the only thing that fell out of my box of trash? I had to know...
So I called the number right then and there...a man answered with a thick European accent...I asked if he repaired sewing machines...he said, "yes at one time but not anymore" ...I said "oh, ok thank you"...feeling a little disappointed...when he said, "but I know someone who still repairs machines, would you like his number...?"
Got chills yet? Smile...
I said, "yes, please." Fast forward to today...a week later Jacob, the repair guy came to my apartment and repaired my 100 year old sewing machine...sigh. Its running like new...he said it's an excellent machine...do not get rid of it.
I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by the whole experience...Did my mom not want me to get rid of this machine...or is the universe trying to tell me something...
Either way, you can't make this stuff up...there are no coincidences.
In honor of my mom I made a quick pillow today...just to test out the machine...I'll call it, the "Daisy" pillow...thanks mom...RIP.
Go ahead, live the life you always dreamed of...I dare you.
So fall is officially here. Yeah.
...and I would love to have the following...
a big chunky knit sweater, chunky scarf...and the perfect clutch...I just thrifted one last week...check out my instagram to see...
I need a space just like this to arrange and display all my pillows and blankets...Hum?
Sigh...two simple matching occasional chairs...
OMG...I can just imagine being cuddled up in this bed all winter...
Yes...another chunky knit...I need to make a chunky knit skirt...love.
all the patterns in this bedroom is making me happy...
I may soon re-paint my kitchen cabinets with black chalk paint...they are currently green...sigh.
How pretty is this? I just may print it out and frame it...
Go ahead, live the life you dream about...I dare you.
It's just a corner of my bedroom...after loading in all the furniture there was a huge wall space devoid of anything...and you all know I can't live with blank walls...I've collected way too many beautiful pieces to have blank walls...so I pulled these two shelves from my stash...one rustic the other IKEA and began loading it with things that make me smile...the frames were purchaed last week from target....the images in the frame were printed off the internet...now all of these thing won't be staying...they just needed a place to land while craziness goes on in my living room....don't ask...UGH! Lets just enjoy this boho vignette...and I caught the sun hanging out in my room again...I think she likes me now...

$4 and $5 dollars? ...What's a girl in the middle of a bedroom make-over to do? Buy a few...right?
I did just that...then I came home and printed out a couple of images from the internet to put in the frames...
...and viola, free art for my bedroom gallery wall...stay tuned.
Head out to your local Target or go to Target.com for clearance frames...I picked them up 2 days ago...probably still available.
