It was an "Amazing" weekend...

Mini and I held our first, "Sickle Cell BackPack to School" fundraiser this weekend...and boy, did you guys come through.
You never know if something is going to work...it was just a dream that Mini and I have had for years now...and this past Sunday it happened...and it happened because of you...to everyone who came through...to everyone who couldn't make it, but still found a way to donate...THANK YOU. You are a blessing to so many kids who are living with this devastating disease...and you have made it possible for Mini and I to give back to our community...for that we will be forever grateful.
We served up chicken and waffles...fresh fruit salad...and a spiked punch.

I was so surprised to see this lady come through? You may know her as, Armanda from the Thriftionary Blog. She just moved to NYC from the ATL a couple weeks ago...and somehow made her way to my home...which is no easy feat...most NYC can't do that...We have followed each others blogs for years. It was so cool meeting her in person. Felt like we knew each other for years...She is so cool...Check out her blog to read all about how she navigates NYC and her thrifting adventures...
I asked everyone to write a little message to the kids and Mini and I will attach one to each bag. Just to let the kids know that these bags were donated by real people who really care and want the best for them...
We feel the love...and now a few kids will too.
