I had no idea...

by - May 15, 2012

Research has shown that 10.9 percent of women in this country wear a size 14, 10.8 percent wear a 12, and 9.2 percent wear a size 16. This means that more than 30 percent of the US female population wears a size 12-16.
We call this group "limbo shoppers" - women who sometimes struggle to fit into straight sizes but aren't quite plus size. They often have as hard of a time finding clothing as true plus size women do - but they are generally overlooked as a group in need of information. Overall, more than 48 percent of women wear a 12 or larger.

...I fall into this group...and while lurking around the internet I ran across this site...brilliant.
The designer Monif C. has her pulse on designing clothes that really flatter a plus size women's body.

I picked a couple of my favorite swimsuits from her line...a bit pricey, but worth every penny.

...is this model gorgeous or what?  There's nothing wrong with being a size 2, but beauty comes in all sizes...see.

...Wanna get the low down on what different plus size labels mean...for example, is 1x the same as XL?  What's the difference between misses and women's...this website lays it out in an easy to understand format...

  1. Thanks for the information. Funny enough, I can wear clothing anywhere from a size 12 to a 16, just depends on the brand, the cut, and fabric. That's why I don't get caught up on the numbers, just wear what looks good and fits. But yes, there is a serious void for this size range.

I sometimes find cute styles in the Junior's market(the larger end)...
Now I know why..thanks for the info.

Now if they can just get the jeans right...I swear your shape changes as you "mature" and the jeans can fit perfectly as long as you're standing up...LOL
