A Tease...

...just to refresh your memory...this is how they looked before...just one cover away from the trash.

I know what you guys were thinking...I was thinking it too...but, I got it done...well...I got one done...Now I know what your thinking...you got an old chair at home and you want me to cover it for $25.00...lol.  No way.  Prices start at $300.00...lol...and you too can have a new chair like mine.  More styled photos later...

The Look of the Day...

Happy Friday everyone...this is the perfect look for today's errands...have a great weekend.

Rain, rain go away...

Well...Mini is back to school...so I am no longer distracted by the Fresh Prince, House of Payne or Nikki Minaji (sp?) blasting from her room...I can hear my own thoughts...lol...and I'm thinking about finally covering these disgusting chairs...hang with me.

Change is good...right?

Okay...I recovered my dining chairs, again.  I wasn't really feeling the green and white patio fabric...I came across this ethnic print...sigh.  Hum, not sure yet...we'll see.

I made new drapes for the living room...taffeta...reminds me of a prom dress and I love it...the camera doesn't show the true color...they are actually a cool minty Martha Stewart green...

I tried to give you a wide angle shot from my couch...I'm thinking those dining room chairs just need chair covers.  Period...and I still want a rug.  The new light over the table is hung too high...gotta fix that...see the blue and white fabric on my arm chair?  I'm working on that today...

Oh...look what I picked up at HomeGoods the other day for just $39.99...love...Gives the same feeling as the lights pictured below.  Right?

I'm feeling very romantic today...

...not sure why.  It might be all the media coverage about the royal wedding...

Random Monday...

I heart this image of Diana Ross...I found it in a book I picked up at a discount book store...It's titled, Diana Ross, Going Back...by Diana Ross...it is full of dozens and dozens of beautiful photos of the boss.

...more small space loving...the colors are so relaxing.

...okay, me...all day - everyday.

sigh.

...loving men's jewelry.

Let me introduce you...

...or maybe not...maybe you already read these interesting blogs...if not, I'm giving you an excuse to spend saturday morning in bed luxuriating...I would give you a description of what each blog is about...but that's way too much work...they're all about fashion, New York, interior design or thrifting...just like me.  ENJOY!

....ok, there you have it...let me know what you think about my choices...

I have been a very thrifty girl...

10yds of 100% cotton batik fabric...I see a long skirt, a maxi dress, a scarf and a couple of pillows...

100% sterling silver bowls...the cleaner will cost more than the bowls...can't wait to sit them on my bedroom shelf (whenever those go up) to hold trinkets...

Elephants are known for bringing luck and prosperity, so I purchased a couple of these puppies...aren't they cute.. stay tuned I'll be giving one away soon... .

These two frames are hand carved of some type of stone and made in India...I paid less than $3.00 each.

I got this silver Pottery Barn frame for  just .99 cents...that's me and Mini when she was around 7...we were at a free outdoor Chaka Khan concert...My favorite picture.

...this is a 1932?  hammered steel tray from the World's Fair...It  has all the zodiac signs engraved around the tray...I heart it.

...cashmere blanket...$4.99...WOW!  I love thrifting.

I just couldn't resist ($1.99) this silver and wood tray.  Very Mid-Century modern...it may take up space on that bedroom shelf holding trinkets...

...two silver candle sticks...I didn't realize they were two different finishes until I got them home...again perfect for my bedroom...

...I think this mid-century modern tray was just $4.99 also...I couldn't resist...and it was signed and everything...I'll use it to serve food at Mini's sip and see...

Thursday's Thought...

I'm often asked, "You and Mini are always smiling, how do you guys do it?"...This quote kinda sums up our attitude...don't give up...and things will work out...Even when things are hard and we wanted to give up...it just wasn't an option.  I hope this quote inspires you...
