Join the Silver Belles, a group of five former Harlem showgirls now aged 84 to 96, as they continue to entertain in this documentary by Heather MacDonald. From dancing together in the hottest venues such as the Cotton Club to performing with world-renowned bandleaders Cab Calloway and Duke Ellington, the gallivanting gals were the toast of the town during the 1930s; in 1985, they renounced retirement and reunited to grace the stage once again.
If this documentary doesn't make you realize that you have a life to live, then????
Young people who watch this movie will see there is nothing you can't do if you work hard and don't give up...and older, more seasoned people will realize that you are never too old to live your dream...
What starts out as a Christmas Eve trip to the mall ends up as an exercise in terror for suburban mom Della Myers (Kim Basinger) when she finds herself stranded in a forest and pursued by a quartet of thugs -- all because she's left an angry note on their car. The baddies (including Lukas Haas) chase her from the mall, and when she crashes her car in a wooded area, she has nothing to fend off her attackers but her wits and her toolbox.
This is a good Friday night movie the whole family will enjoy...even the men...a thriller with lots of twists and turns and an unexpected ending.
...and Mini wanted to get in on the fun and make a recommendation too...sigh...here it is...
Get set for more neighborhood misadventures -- this time, during the holiday season -- as the third installment in the Friday series finds Craig (Ice Cube) and Day-Day (Mike Epps) working as security guards and dealing with a thief who's stealing Christmas presents. It's up to the close-knit, hard-luck cousins to catch the "ghetto Santa" and help keep the Yuletide spirit alive in this hilarious urban comedy.
Mini said, "it's the bomb-digitty"...too much. But, I have to agree...I LMAO.
