NYC is the best place to be for Memorial Day...everyone leaves and you get the city all to yourself...I'm heading to Battery Park City at some point...taking a little time to enjoy the view...it's one of my favorite neighborhoods.

I've been rocking this style since the 90's...So to see it coming back makes me smile...Just think of all the pedicure money you can save and spend on your home instead of your feet...smile. Not saying you should never get a pedicure...but, if this trend continues, you won't need them so often. If you follow this blog, I guess you already know...I'm really low maintenance when it comes to shoes...not sure why...just am...I guess I have other things to ogle over, like chairs...and most shoes in my budget HURT!
...lookie, lookie, lookie...I got this far with my cabinet makeover and I like it so much I may just paint all the wood furniture in my house...
My home has been decorated in almost every decorating style imaginable...traditional, eclectic, afrocentric...etc...I've always had a love of Scandinavian Interior Design and I'm going in that direction for my apartment makeover...

I like the idea of a gallery in the hall where all the frames are the same color...the simple bench is the perfect accessory for this small space...You will notice that most Scandinavian homes have white floors and walls...During the winter months they have very short days...less hours of sunlight so they like to keep things bright and simple...I luv that, but it's sometimes hard for me to do, I got a lot of stuff...
...I'm thinking about painting my Ikea armoire white...Hum!? What's the worst that can happen? If it doesn't work out I'll just replace the doors...That's the joy of shopping at IKEA...
Scandinavian rooms love to use string lights...and so do I...they put off the most calming light, they're really cheap and they add instant atmosphere...I heart it.
I've had this cabinet for years...bought at the Salvation Army for $20...It's over 100 years old...info stamped on the back...I've been reluctant to paint it white...BUT, I recently came across this blog, LIFE IN THE FUN LANE...and I'm inspired...Just look at what this DIY Diva has done to her cabinet...LUV. That's it, white paint here I come...stay tuned.
...My Mini wasn't feeling well last night...we were up at 3 am trying to decided if we were going to the ER...sigh...We didn't...I finally got her to go back to sleep. I just knew she would want to stay home from school today...but, nope...she woke up bright and early and went to school like nothing happened...People are always asking me, "How do I do it?"...Trust me, somedays are really hard, but, I'm telling you, this girl is an inspiration.

Min's had two days off from school, so after clearing the terrace we went to the mall to buy her a party dress...found one in JCPenny's...really cute...I wore something like this.
