If you are in or around NYC this weekend...you should check out this brooklyn festival...tons of music, vendors, food and unique handmade items that you won't find anywhere else...bring an empty stomach, a little cash and wear something cool...it gets hot.

Throughout its 41 year history the International African Arts Festival has brought to the Brooklyn community some of the most powerful artists in the African world. A few of the artists performing at the Festival have included Babatunde Olatunde Olatunji and his African Dancers and Drummers, Marie Brooks Pan Caribbean Dancers, Hugh Masakela, The Fugees (Lauryn Hill, Pras Michel and Wyclef Jean), Blue Magic, Pharoah Saunders, Gil Scott Heron, The Mighty Sparrow, Fela Anikaputi, India Arie, KRS-One, Hezekiah Walker, Imani, Shadow, Morgan Heritage, Black Stalin, Tanya Maria, Sun Ra, The Last Poets, Martha Redbone, Dinizulu African Dancers and Drummers, plus many, many more who have grown out of these traditional arts to achieve national and international acclaim.
Get more info here.

Mini and I attended the festival last year...these are a couple of our pics...
...check out how short Mini's hair was...Wow!  It has really grown.
