My design ADD...

by - October 15, 2012

I have confessed many times on this blog to having "design ADD"...loving something one minute and loving something totally different the next day...case in point...You all know that I am working on my bedroom redesign...and loving all the elements so far...until...I came across these images and thought..."hum?"
What if I painted my nightstands silver....hum?

...what if the entire room where silver, black and white...hum?

...Then I saw this...hum?
...what if I went really, really dark and moody...hum?

...I need those chairs...hum?  or do I?

I love the drapes I made...but, what if I went pink?  hum?

...sigh...or is natural the way to go?  I love the ties on the duvet...I did not get around to starting my bedding project last weekend...but, when I do...the duvet will look like this...

...this image almost...I said, almost...sent me back to the paint store...until I remembered that my bedroom was once pink and I didn't like it too much...
The mix in this room is exactly what I'm going for in my room...an eclectic mix of contemporary, ethnic, mid-century, vintage...me in a nutshell...How would you describe your design self...?

The floors in this room are beautiful...the floors in my room...not so much...I may paint them in the spring...until then, I need to find or make a rug...I really like this one...and this room is so bright...my room is not and I've decided to just embrace it and make it as moody and romantic as I can...It's never going to be bright...I'm a firm believer in embracing what you can't change...and make it work.

and thanks to everyone who commented on moody vs. boho vs. romantic...moody won out big time...so, stay tuned for my moody, romantic

  1. Yea my bedroom has no windows so I straight embraced the darkness and made it more dark and cozy.

  2. I love the metaphor of "design ADD".
You have no "deficits" but what I think you show, at least to me, is that all in life is connected and forever changing. It's "all" good. And you are blessed with the creative passion to reinvent yourself and your surroundings anytime you want...I'm happy to be around to see your ebb and flow...

  3. Life is too short for one color! My kitchen has been 8 colors in 9 years. And right now I have paint swatches all around the living room. It's a good thing my hubby is fairly relaxed about it....
