Focus Groups
...so, yesterday I did a focus group on Make-up...it paid $150.00 cash for 2 hours of my time...we sat around and discussed whether said make-up company (not MAC) should change their packaging...Focus Groups are a great way to make extra cash...even Mini has participated...during the summer she did a group on Pastry sneakers...she loved that...now every time she goes into a sneaker store she looks to see if they took her advice...
Well, if your interested here are some sites to get you started...Craig's list is a good resource also...do a search under "focus groups" in your city...If the sites don't have an online application for participants just call them up and ask them to mail you one...You can also call and ask if they have groups in your city or country...focus groups take place in every city....Good Luck.

Look of the Day...minus the shoes
...I'm heading out to meet with lawyers, again...then attending a focus group on make-up (more on that later)...hope to squeeze in a stop by Anthropologie for a little bedroom inspiration before heading home...Easy organization...
...hum, could use the generic bookcase from target and fill it with white canvas baskets...instead of a dresser in my bedroom...or at least until I find the perfect dresser for my bedroom...this would also be perfect in the kitchen...holding napkins, forks, books, etc....

Easy D.I.Y. Snack
GRILLED CHOCOLATE SANDWICH
...this is mini and my favorite snack...she usually makes it for us while watching Survivor...our favorite reality show...What ya need...
2 slices whole wheat bread
cream cheese
chocolate chips
butter
cinnamon
sugar
Spread desired amount of cream cheese on both pieces of bread...add chocolate chips...put sandwich together...spread a little butter on the outside of both pieces of bread...place sandwich in a very hot pan, turn when brown....about 2 min on each side...remove from pan...sprinkle sugar and cinammon all over sandwich...and enjoy.

...My room is now this color....YEAH! I'm on the hunt for similar fabric to use in the design of my bedding and drapes...the fun stuff...the hard work is done...will post pictures soon. I'm off today to paint a mural in a clients kitchen...fun, fun, fun...

Great Idea...Decoupage!
... a while back, I posted about a dresser I picked-up at a flea market for Mini's room...it needs to be funked-up and I luv this idea...not sure if Mini will like it...We'll see what she thinks when she gets home...
update: Mini did not like the dresser idea...she wants me to keep it simple, paint it one color and just change the knobs...she said I always do too much...lol

Wallpaper - $7.98 a roll...Mini and I put it up in the hall outside my bedroom...LUV!
Shiney, Black, Leggings - $3.24...I blogged about wanting a pair but never expected to see them at Target and at this price...Happy Birthday to me...
Garden Stool - $19.99...I've been eyeing them at Home Goods for $39.99...I heart Target...you never know what to expect...
Round Woven Basket -$9.98...I didn't get the decorative bust that I wanted, but this is just as good...heart!, and the decorative circles, just $3.98 each...gotta luv it...

...I do, Marcus Samuelson...Chef and owner of Aquavit restaruant in NYC, also the host of a cooking show on TVOne. ...Why him!? First of all, just look how cute he is...look at that smile, it could even melt my heart...and that's not easy...I've seen interviews of him and he seems really sweet (not that kinda sweet)...
...he would cook for me...and teach me some new tricks in and out of the kitchen...yep...as you know, I like nerdy guys...plus, I'm a good student (wink).
...he's a painter...hum, passionate...luv that and we could paint together (smile).
...and after were covered with paint...we could just talk, lol...

Last Night...
...Mini and I found these pictures last night while listening to the President's press conference...I thought I'd post them here for nostalgia...she's too cute...Mini loves looking at pictures of her as a baby...
...As for our President...I don't know...when I found out President Obama was a Leo I became a little concerned about his personality and how it will affect his ability to govern.
...Let me first say that I consider myself an expert when it comes to Leo's...I have been surrounded by them all my life...and what I know about them is this...
..they want everyone to like them...they will do nothing unless someone will notice and say, "hey, I like that." They don't like confrontation and will not confront you until their back is up against the wall...they need to be the center of the universe...all things good must come from them and everyone must acknowledge that...they will do nothing to upset the apple cart...again, like I said, they need to be liked...
...all of this will be a problem for my President Obama...He will need to learn how to say, "I don't give a F&$k whether you like it our not! ...and why is he on t.v. everyday? (trying to get everyone to like him?) He needs to get it done and move on to the next problem...of which there are many...In my opinion he's spending too much time trying to get everyone on board...it makes him look weak...Ugh!
...As you can tell, I'm just a little frustrated...but, wasn't Mini a cutie?

Today's Musical Selection, DMX - Party UP!
...today's musical selection is dedicated to President Obama...would someone please put this song on the President's IPOD...? He should listen to it on repeat before going in front of the Senate today...Did you see him on t.v. yesterday? I was so proud...and what he said is correct... "these people are playing, they can't be serious"..."this mess was left on my desk with a big bow and now the republicans are trying to act brand new"...well, they got another thing coming...YA'LL GONNA MAKE ME LOOSE MY MIND, UP IN HERE, UP IN HERE...Turn it up!
Looky, looky, looky...
...I finally (after talking and dreaming about it for over a year) started on my bedroom re-design...Yep, painted the walls, with just a brush and paint...no roller, no taping off, no tarp on the floor, free-style...Oh man, my entire upper body was aching last night...I could barley move...but, I'm up and feeling good, so I'm going to finish up today...Stay tuned.
...I didn't even remove the furniture from the room...it's a mess...but not for long.

A room with a view...
...it's 12 degrees today.
...this is what I woke up to yesterday...nope, not Switzerland...it's NYC...it was beautiful.

...living room and chalk board paint...found the mantel at a junk shop in my neighborhood for $50 bucks...it was brown...I painted it white...I heart it...
...I posted a while back about hating my entry wall...well, I painted it over the weekend...now I like it...I would luv if it were covered with wallpaper...the mural was painted as a gift from a friend.
...this table is in my entry...that's my favorite picture of Mini and Me...also, the bowl I received for Christmas from my friends trip to Africa...

...my workspace is in the kitchen...by New York standards it's a really big kitchen...instead of a kitchen table and cabinets, I have a work space and industrial sewing machines...

I heart this chair...found it 5 years ago at a local second hand shop for $24.00 bucks...solid wood probably from the 1940's...it's really heavy but still works perfectly.
