I would love to have french doors in my bedroom. I have even toyed with the idea of swapping my bedroom with my livingroom just so I can have a terrace off my bedroom and the view from my livingroom window is to die for...just not brave enough yet...

Paul Newman Should Win an Oscar for his Life
Mini called me this weekend and gave me the news that the person who made her favorite place in the world, The Hole in the Wall Camp, is dead. She was sad, but happy that he went to heaven and that he didn't go when camp was in session, because it would have been too sad to be at camp and hear this news...Mini has such a grip on life and death...hum.
What a life...It got me thinking, they give out Oscars for acting...what if we gave out Oscars for life. Would I get one? Would you get one? Paul Newman would definately get one...RIP.

Lazy Post
..so, the past two days were spent with Mini and her doctors...there was good and bad news...the MRI's showed no worsening damage, good news---but it has not gotten better as we hoped, bad news...hum? The doctors recommended that we just continue her treatment as noted until something better comes along and hope for the best...hum? So Mommy is taking the day off to breathe...and i'll leave you guys with a little eye candy for your weekend...

I'm out of the shoe game
....I mentioned yesterday that I'm not a shoe person...here's the proof...I found these shoes in a dusty box in the corner of my bedroom. All of them, never worn...well, that's not true. I wore the black straps with the red bottoms once.
...when I was a little girl, I wore what made my mom happy...when I was a teenager, I wore what made my friends happy, as a young woman, I wore what made men happy...today, I only wear what makes me happy...and these shoes don't make me happy...there cute, but right now, my life is so far from cute...I forgot I had them...

...just have to share...this Turkey Hill, sugar free ice cream is amazing...low in fat, no sugar and full of fiber...check out the stats on the box...it is so creamy and I love rich and creamy ice cream...this ice cream is too good to be true...the peach mango flavor actually has large pieces of mango and peach mixed in...LUV, LUV, LUV...
If you love ice cream, run don't walk...FYI, Walmart sells it for $2.99 for half gallon....

Please excuse the mommy rants...
...normally I'm a real easy going person...my life philosphy is live and let live...but, as I get older I find that I have less and less patience for foolishness...but I still try to let people do what they do...and when I can't take it anymore I let loose...and that's what happened this morning...I let loose on Mini's school bus driver...I won't get into the details, but it's too early in the school year for foolishness and I just wanted her to know what I will put up with and what I won't...to be continued, I'm sure...
...I was really trying not to go there but, when it comes to Mini I'm under so much pressure and in my mind, there is no room for error...now, I'm sure what happened with the bus is something that happens on school buses everyday...but, I'm really sensative, like I said, to foolishness...and that bus driver didn't know that I'm always on...I deal with doctors, lawyers, judges, teachers you name it...Now add bus drivers to the list...
...It didn't help that I'm worried about the MRI that Mini has to have of her brain next week...Yep. I'm trying to be cool...but, I don't know what I'm going to do if Mini's Neuro-surgeon suggests another brain surgery...she's already had two!

O.K., I'm back....can I brag on my Mini for a minute?...with all the obstacles placed in front of her, my girl wakes up every morning like it's Christmas...REALLY...she's amazing...She attends a special school for kids with learning disabilities and is years behind her peers but you can't tell that be her...She gives 100% everyday...never complains, loves doing homework...loves going to school and has just informed me that she is running for Class President this year...
She is more than a mom could dream of...and the bus driver wants to mess with me...I don't think so...I'm a warrior for my daugher and she's a warrier for me....
Mini's first test 93% and 83% ...YEAH! Go girl...
....o.k...back to my diversion...decorating, fashion and other goodies...

When I was a little girl I would spend hours with paper dolls...I mean it was obsessive...well into my early teen years...So just imagine how excited I was to find this site last night...I was up most of the night (i know, I really need to get a life) putting together what we in the fashion industry call storyboards...When I worked for the IZOD clothing company I was in charge of designing story boards and I loved it.
...I think Polyvore has just created a monster...It will also come in handy in my work...now I can workout ideas online before presenting them to clients...LUV!
...and you know Mini loved it too...she got through her homework in record time so she could get online and play...

Easy D.I.Y.
I don't like clutter...especially on my counters in the kitchen...I turned this vinegar dispenser into my dish soap dispenser...You can get them anywhere...I believe I got this one at the dollar store...So much prettier than the usual bottle of JOY...

Trying to Stay Focused

Wednesday Night...Must See T.V.
Wednesday night is must see t.v. in our house...at 8:00 p.m. we watch Mini's favorite show in the world, Top Model. Snacks have to be in place, all lights must be off, dishes washed and p.j.'s on. Oh, and please don't call...Mini can't take any calls during the show...It's too funny...
At 9:00 p.m. Mini goes to bed and I get to enjoy Project Runway...Which this season it's a little disappointing...The work of two of the designers never seems to be good enough...I'll let you guess which ones...
...and now at 10:00 p.m. there's Top Design...I was really excited, because of all the reality shows on t.v. this is one I could see myself trying out for...They disappointed me last night...the contestants were asked to design a two room apartment with $2,000.00, while only shopping at flea markets and thrift stores...and this is what they came up with...UGH! I could have completed that project with $300.00 bucks left over...Check out what was created on the show last night...and yes, these are the after shots...

Soul Pretty...The Early Days
One of my first rooms...I found this picture on my computer today and thought I'd share it...I put up the mantle shelf and painted the wall black to give the illusion of an actual fireplace...I designed the pillows...you can't really see it here, but the image on the front are of little girls made of felt...I heart the pillows...I have to make them again...
