A perfect play on patterns colors and textures...I enjoy dressing in a way that makes people go, "what is she thinking?" I would definately rock this outfit.
Missing summer already...
Summer is almost over and Mini and I have not been to our favorite place in the world...the beach. We live in NYC and less than 20 minutes away from at least 4 different beaches...Summer is just too fast...Maybe we can get there in the fall with a sweater over my swimsuit...I heart this one by trinaturk.com

DNC National Convention
...So, I'm watching the DNC convention last night...and heard Mr. Bidden's speech...I'm a real political junkie but, I don't know much about him except that when he was running for president he was the most entertaining candidate...always talking loud with nothing to say...I learned last night that he's from Delaware and he travels 4 hours each way by train, leaving D.C. for Deleware every day...He started doing this when a tragic accident made him a single father...WOW! I'm inspired...any man with such passion for his family is a man after my own heart...Welcome to the ticket...

Good Morning...
...just taking a break from my morning...Mini is still a little under the weather...we made a pit stop to the doctor's office today to do more blood work...we should have the results tomorrow...tomorrow is also our monthly all day clinic visit...Not looking forward to it...So I just thought I'd cheer myself up with some flowers.
...I've just noticed that I haven't created anything in a while...not really inspired lately...When I get a minute I'll blog around for a little inspiration.

It can be difficult to hang items with pre-drilled holes like the cups below...I learned a neat little trick that you can use to hang pictures, shelves or almost anything perfectly the first time...
1. place a piece of tape across the back and mark the holes...
2. remove the tape and place it on the wall where you would like to hang your item...You can use a level across the top of the tape to insure it's straight...
3. Drill you screws into the maked holes in the tape...when done remove the tape from the wall...
4. Presto, the object should hang just perfectly form the mounted scews...

Mini's New Room
I used the colors in the painting over the bed for inspiration.
I made Mini a little glam station ...
I decided the computer/study area should be less distracting...I used chalkboard paint over the desk.
Mini is home from camp, where she spent two days in the camp hospital hooked to an IV anti-biotic drip...she had a temperature of 103...UGH! Mini being the trooper that she is didn't complain, she just kept it moving and had fun when she could...The camp is called the Double H Camp and is one of the camps run by the actor, Paul Newman...It's a free camp for kids with life threating illnesses and it's amazing...everything the kids need medically and for recreation is top notch...So the next time you pass the Paul Newman dressing in your supermarket pick some up, it's really helping a lot sick kids to just be kids...I spent a few days working on Mini's room makeover to much success, she loves it...

In A Perfect World
In a perfect world I'd wear this top today...Mini went off to sleep away camp yesterday which means I have 6 days to finish her room makeover...I'll be running around to Target, Ikea and Whole Foods...this top would be so cute to wear while running around...I rarely look this cute when doing errands, but, as Mini says, "in my mind I do..."

Free Camping in Queens
First let me say that camping is one of my favorite things to do in the world...I could probably live like the Uni-bomber if I had to, no problem...I'm always telling my mom that we should invest in a couple of really good tents...living in the NYC you never know when your going to need one...and yesterday while watching the news they mentioned a free camping program in Alley Pond Park in Queens...You can bring the family, pitch a tent and sleep under the stars...there's food and activities all for FREE...you just have to register...Hurry there's only one weekend left...To bad for us, Mini will be at sleep away camp next week...

More Mommy Stories
So, yesterday I went on a tour of a private middle/high school for Mini...Nice school in Manhattan for students like Mini...The tuition is obscene...If Mini attends this school and the Board of Education pays the tuition it will only help Mini and that goes against everything that I believe in. What happens to all the other kids left in failing public schools? It was hard for me to sleep last night...to be continued

Mini had a sleepover this weekend with her cousin who is visiting from California. The girls painted this picture for me...Isn't it cute...They described it this way...the sun is setting over two houses in a field...one on the east coast one on the west coast...What's better than that?

Advice to the Grown and Sexy Men Out There
The other day I was in Target picking up a prescription for Mini...There was an old man waiting at the pharmacy...I smiled at him and said, "how you doin'?"...just trying to be polite...His face light up and he smiled back and said, "not so good, cause I'm not with you" and just walked away...OMG, his response was so cool and sexy and this man was at least 75 years old...Damn, brothers need to spend more time with their elders...Here I was thinking I was making his day and he made mine...So, men remember that line the next time a lady asks, how you doin'...You might get lucky...If I were just a few years older, old man may have had a chance...lol.

I really love the way the Lincoln Car Company has tapped into the Grown and Sexy in their latest campaign...First the couple is at a party...bored...Let's try a little role playing...So cute...something I would definately be into...Then people start to act-up...they decide to split...their too grown for this...Let's take a ride...Cool, sexy...Ooops, their married and this is a rare night on the town and no nonsense will be tolerated...Not even from their kids...Why is everyone trying to kill their buzz...they just want to chill...Let's get back in the Lincoln and ride...I'm feeling this ad.
