Rants and Raves from the Fort Greene Home Tour
Vouyers like myself started lining up at 11:00 a.m. last Sunday in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Why? Because we like to peek at strangers homes...It is my favorite spring time ritual...I do it all over New York City and Fort Greene did not disappoint...These are images from the day
Do you have a million dollars just laying around? If so, you can purchase a tiny two bedroom apartment with the kitchen placed along the livingroom wall (sorry, no pictures were allowed)...A master bedroom too small for a dresser and your kids clothes will not fit in the room they call the second bedroom...Not to mention...it's downtown Brooklyn people! This is insanse....
The home in brooklyn are so diverse...just like the people...This home would look totally normal in middle America...but, it's in Brooklyn...Inside, totally modern and updated...just beautiful. I'll take it...then you could come over and I'd make margaritas we'd sit on the porch and talk about everyone walking by...perfect.
Oh, this doggie was so bored with all the interlopers in his neighborhood...I wish I could have a doggie like him or her in my apartment...but, no pets allowed.
This little cutie is starting a little early on the pampering train...
This image of Tina Turner was in the window of a funky little boutique in Fort Green called, http://addyandferro.com/ ...The brownstone across the street was caught in the reflection...cool...can't wait to print it at Walmart...I hope it comes out well...I want to frame it and hang it in the apartment...somewhere...where, I don't know...
Images from my favorite house on the tour (they allowed me to take pictures)...I just love the wallpaper. It was on the ceiling...special. I like when you walk into a home and you can instantly tell who lives there and if your lucky, what their passions are...This is the home of a very passionate old man...Just beautiful...
I ended the day with a walk through beautiful Fort Greene Park. I was told that just 15 years ago this was a drug haven...Well, well, well, gentrification at work... It was a perfect day.
